How to Boost Immune System

Now that you understand how important your immune system is to overall wellness, you may be wondering, “How can I support my immune system for better health?”

If you’re ready to change your diet and habits to boost your immune system, there are many safe and effective ways to do so.

Let’s take a look at some of the changes you can make to boost your immune system.

In documented research studies, pine cone extract (PCE) has shown to have many powerful health and healing properties.

From an array of ailments such as lymphoma (a type of cancer) to even the herpes virus, pine cone extract has demonstrated to be a valuable tool addressing these conditions.

Leading scientists and researchers have discovered that pine cone extract contains specific compounds that have the potential to improve the quality of life for many people with immune dysfunctions.

However, let’s start at the beginning...

Immune system boosters

There’s no denying that a weak immune system can make life difficult - especially if you are experiencing frequent illness and infection.

Stress, insufficient sleep, a lack of exercise, and not eating healthy can all lead to a weakened immune system. These unhealthy practices can also suppress recovery time if you are sick.

For this reason, it’s extremely important to add immune boosters - like certain foods and natural supplements - to your daily diet.

The Science Behind Pine Cone Extract

Researchers have begun to explore its various compounds and chemicals

In addition to certain diets and changes to daily habits that can help, there are also a number of natural and effective immune system boosters. These include things like well researched natural supplements derived from plant-based and minerals. This can have a profound effect on your body's immune system.

Pine Cone Extract and Our Immune System

The bioactive plant chemicals (also known as phytochemicals) found in pine cone extract are shown in clinical studies to stimulate and encourage an immune response at a cellular level.

Increased antibody production is one of the most noticeable results of PCE consumption. As a result, there are many illnesses and diseases that may potentially benefit from including pine cone extract as part of treatment protocols.

Research efforts into the medical uses of pine cone extract are ongoing and continuous. Each new set of results expands the line of questioning and broadens researchers’ understanding of how they can help the body heal itself.

What is holistic health?

Published studies and laboratory tests indicate that pine cone extract

Published studies and laboratory tests indicate that pine cone extract (PCE):

  • Inhibits the growth of HIV in human T cell cultures.
  • Inhibits growth of influenza and the herpes simplex virus.
  • Enhances immunity.
  • Inhibits tumor activity.
  • Suppresses induction of lymphoma (a type of cancer involving cells of the immune system).

In all, more than twenty years of positive research supports the use of pine cone extract (PCE). We now know pine cone extract is a valuable tool when used to address chronic immune deficiency conditions.

Scientific Studies Examining the Benefits of Pine Cone Extract

Anti-viral Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Experimental studies have shown that pine cone extract (PCE) suppresses the growth of influenza virus. This is due to the interaction between virus proteins and pine cone extract’s antitumor substances. These substances inhibit viral RNA synthesis and suppress virus multiplication.

Additionally, the antiviral effects of both intravenous and oral delivery of pine cone extract were reported by Nagasawa et al. (1992). In this study, mice infected with a mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) were administered both oral and intravenous doses of pine cone extract. Because MMTV is generally secreted as part of the lactation process, the researchers were able to easily measure the complete suppression of MMTV secretion in mice.

Scientific Studies Examining the Benefits of Pine Cone Extract

We have over fifty years of collective experience in alternative medicine

This study is instrumental in proving that pine cone extract can suppress the production of new viruses in animal systems. However, it’s important to note that pine cone extract can also be effective against influenza and other viruses, and should be also be considered as a potential way to treat herpes effectively.

The antiviral effects of pine cone extract fractions were further confirmed by Eberhardt and Young (1996). The antiviral activity of pine cone extract was tested in immune cells in the T4 lymphocyte cell line. It was discovered that Pine cone extract could inhibit virus activity when measured at an approximate concentration 10 micrograms per milliliter.

Noteworthy in this study, no T4 cell toxicity was observed until the dosage of pine cone extract rose over 56 micrograms per milliliter. This study indicates that pine cone extract is both safe and useful as a therapeutic agent.

Additionally, several antitumor lignin-related substances were isolated from pine cone extract. These proved to be potent antiviral agents against herpes simplex virus. This indicates pine cone extract is a potential natural herpes treatment.

Anti-HIV Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Examine Habits

Some studies (Satoh et al., 1999) show that pine cone extract inhibits HIV-induced effects on cells in cell culture.

In human T cell cultures, pine cone extract also inhibits HIV replication by binding to the viral reverse transcriptase and can additionally inhibit HIV gene transcription.

This shows the potential of pine cone extract use for HIV treatment.

Anti-microbial Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Anti-microbial Properties of Pine Cone Extract

In one study, pretreatment of mice injected with pine cone extract protected them from a lethal infection with E.coli bacteria.

Additionally pine cone extract “[...] induced antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Candida albicans [...] in mice [...]." (Anticancer Res. 1989 Jul-Aug; 9(4): 961-6)

Antiparasitic Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Pine cone extract is known to induce antiparasitic activity against Hymenolepis nana in mice.

Anti-tumor Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Pine cone extract has various antitumor substances that are proven to significantly inhibit the growth of transplanted tumor cells in mice.

Antioxidant Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Antioxidant Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Pine cone extract is a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger.

Satoh and Sakagami (1996) studied and compared various tannin and lignin-related compounds to judge their ability to modify the ascorbyl radical intensity of sodium ascorbate. They found that prepared pine cone hot-water extracts “potently scavenged ascorbyl radical intensity."

Immune System Support Properties of Pine Cone Extract

Pine cone extract is well known to promote the development of immune cells in both animals and humans. It’s noted (Bradley, 2003) that one active part of pine cone extract can promote the rapid maturation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) into mature dendritic cells.

Within our immune systems, these specialized and mature dendritic cells are known as important antigen-presenting cells. They possess an ability to not only uptake, but also process, and present antigen to the immune system’s T cells. They are also crucial for the development of a healthy immune system response against vaccine antigens as well as against cancer, bacterial infections, and virally infected cells.

Immune System Support Properties of Pine Cone Extract

The miraculous effects of pine cone extract

In another study, Lai et al. (1990) purified pine cone extract’s active components to identify fractions promoting macrophages production. These macrophages are a white blood cell used in the body as part of a healthy immune system response. They surround and kill microorganisms, remove dead cells from the area, and stimulate the other immune system cells into action.

All of these miraculous effects of pine cone extract are published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals by independent university research scientists.
